Ok, if you're like me, I'm sick of American Idol. It's just the same old thing every season, and the person you always want to win never makes it. It's over rated, and it really killed me 3 years ago when American Idol got more people to vote than the presidential elections did!
That said, you realize how desperate I must have been last night when I was sick on the couch and I didn't have the energy to do anything except push the buttons on the remote control. The only half worthy thing on T.V. was American Idol, which I thought might be good for a few laughs.
The instant I switched channels, my life changed...really, it did! The first image I saw was the face of my friend from LA, Brooke White. I nearly fell off the couch. What a shock!!! She was talking to the camera and then went on to play the piano and sing a song that Simon actually liked!!! The judges actually liked her!!! WOW! I was screaming and giggling and laughing through the whole thing! She actually had Fabio's attention too. That's saying a lot people. Fabio + American Idol = unhappy boyfriend...but not last night! Fabio actually liked her too...and he's almost as tough as Simon!
BACKGROUND: Brooke and I moved to LA at the same time. I taught the temple prep. class she was in before she was married, and she cut and colored my hair for 3 years...up until the day before I left LA! We always talked about her music career and shows she was playing at clubs in the area. She is truly one of the most genuine, deserving people I know! Without going on and on, let's just say, this will be the first season of American Idol that I will actually vote. I will not just have favorites, hoping other people less lazy than myself will actually call in and vote. I will be a voting maniac. I will annoy all of you to watch the show and vote for her. I'm already making Fabio crazy.

I'll see if I can drum up a fan base in Brent's family! They are Idol fans. So fun to actually know someone...not just know who they are. We'll watch a little closer now! I hope you're feeling better. Being sick stinks!
Em, I haven't watched one bit of Idol this season because I was getting kind of bored. I have only watched two seasons so that is saying a lot.
But your friend Brooke has such a great voice, and so very pretty. I am going to start marking my calendar for Idol dates so I can watch.
Dang I love the way she talks too, I have always wanted a Demi voice like that. Every time I get laryngitis I feel sexier! :)

Don't you just love those serendipitous events in life? Emalei, that is so cool you 'just happened' to see your friend on TV. But, I'm afraid you'll have to do more than just ask me to vote. I have never watched the idol show, am even more clueless as to how and when to vote, but would be willing to learn.
My neice went up to Minnesota one year to sing for Am. Idol, I think. I didn't even follow it then. Pathetic. But your friend is wonderful. I'd be willing to jump on the bandwagon -
