We couldn't let the day go by without saying Happy Birthday to our new family member Ella. We are all just head over heels for this sweet little baby that has come into our family. Welcome to the world and to our family.
I know I've already commented, but it is still so amazing to me to think about how recently she came from the spirit world. I'm reminded of a poem by Carol Lynn Pearson: My Day Old Child
My day old child in my arms with my lips against his ear I whispered strongly "How I wish, I wish that you could hear,
"I've a hundred wonderful things to say A tiny cough and nod) Hurry, hurry, hurry and grow so I can tell you about God."
My day old baby's mouth was still and my words only tickled his ear, but a kind of light passed through his eyes, and I saw this thought appear,
"How I wish I had a voice and words, I've a hundred things to say, Before I forget, I'd tell you of God, I left Him yesterday."
Congratulations! Brand new adventures ahead as a grandparent!
And about McCormick's and Schmicks--when I worked for Super PC Memory the company flew the entire office to Irving, CA every January where their memory manufacturing facility is. And, Friday lunch was always their treat at...McCormick's and Schmick's right near John Wayne Airport (Orange County). I fly there all the time now and we pass right by the restaurant on the way to the hotel. Good memories of good food. And, Janet, I don't like seafood either, but there is plenty on the menu that is NOT. That's what I used to have. The non-seafood stuff. So, try it out.

PS I have a lot of friends around my age named Janet. We always thought it was one of the classiest names because of Janet Leigh. Wow! what a beauty--she is Jamie Lee Curtis' mother, and a big star of the early 50's. So, here is one person that thought it was a great name. Why did your folks name you that anyway?
