Starting the first Saturday in May, they opened the Farmer's Market and it will run until the last Saturday in October. It's just beginning with the produce but they also have plants, flowers, homemade bread and cookies, jewelry and such. As the seasons continue on, we can get tomatoes, pears, peaches, garden produce. The biggy today was aspargus (freshly cut) Oh soooooooo good and $1.25 a pound. We also got a jalepeno plant and two pepper plants. (Bill is turning into a gourmet chef and so we're growing our own ingredients) We already have tomatoe plants planted in our sun room and let me tell you it's like a nursery. Perfect conditions.
From the Market, we went to the airport to check out the new Jackson Flight School that is starting. We talked to several men, that your dad knew already, that have their private licenses and one of them talked to him about a club in Prosser that has their own plane and all the details about cost of flying etc. Their web site is WIngsoverprosser.com if you're interested. Your Dad got in their plane and had to ask himself if he could really handle flying if he had to be that cramped in the plane. He is quite closterphobic. It was fun to look, though. There was even a man there that was flying his remote control plane. It was about the size of a man and was fun to watch. It was a hot day but fun to be out among the crowd and come home to hotdogs and potatoe salad - - courtesy of your dad. I love those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer.

FARMER'S MARKET

Looks like fun but I sure wouldn't want to fly one of those planes... the trip we took over Yellowstone was scary enough for me!
Looks like beautiful weather. I really miss farmers markets. They were so much more readily available to me when I was in cal. I hear they have one at Thanksgiving Point, but lets be honest that is kinda far for us. Maybe I should check it out this summer on the way to my parents house sometime.
I agree about the cramped airplanes. I already get a little edgy when I am on the commercial airliners, so I can't imagine I would like those teeny tiny ones.
Prosser looks nice!
Well, the plane might be small, but that's one of the best pics of William I've seen in a long time. Hats off to the photographer and their subject!
Have I seen the sunroom? I seem to recall news of a bit of renovating since my last (and final as far as I know) visit.
Boy, who knew Prosser was going to be such a terrific place! Ain't life grand?!
Aunt Beth
I love small town summer days too! Although, I'm not sure Prosser can rival a summer day in Seattle! Any takers?
Wow mommo, that sounds fun! When Bridgie and I come home in August, we should go to the farmers market. That sounds cool!
You wrote this really well...it was fun to read!
