On our last Saturday there, we drove to Bernese Oberland. My gosh, the country side was beautiful.

Take a look at their cemeteries. They decorate each grave as if it's an individual garden. Real quaint.

We took a tram (actually we had to catch a connecting trams half way up the mountain)
We went to the village called Murren. It was literally on the edge of the mountain and we spent the night in the cutest motel there. Unfortunately it was Saturday afternoon at 4pm so everything was closed. That didn't stop us from walking around the village.
Here's a few views from our motel room balcony. Breath taking. Bill kept saying he couldn't believe we were really there. You felt like you could reach out and touch the mountain.

We walked around the village and couldn't believe the breathtaking views.

This was the bottom level of a hotel in Murran. This is not looking through the window as you would think but is a reflection of the mountain, behind me, on the window. It was amazing.

Sunday morning we took another tram further up the mountain to Schilthorn restaurant and visitor's center for breakfast. It was a revolving restaurant and the views were indescribable. As we started out, we were able to see Murren as we climbed the mountain. I took this picture for Dale of the tennis court right on the cliff of the mountain. Can you imagine?! It almost looks like a model of a town.

Just to give you an idea of the majesticness of the mountain range and our heigth, here's a few pictures as were going up the mountain. One is of a tram station. How did they do that?

We finally got to the top (after about 20 minuntes) of the revolving restaurant. Fun Fun Fun Here's a few pictures at the restaurant.

I'm almost done. After we got back to Murren, we walked down to the next tram. It took us 30 minutes walking down the mountain but it was worth every minute and every step. It was an amazing weekend. AMEN

So pretty! I want to go there! Take me there!
Those pictures are gorgeous! I love it. I'm jealous too. I would have loved to have gone there. But I am certain there will be more Switzerland adventures for me. Plus, it's just not the same when you're toting around a baby.
I would love to go to Europe, anywhere! My biggest complaint is that everything closes so early. Makes it difficult for people like me who tote around a husband who likes to sleep in, even in Europe.
ohh my gosh...that place is beautiful! I wanna go! :) How did you leave! What a great finale post of your vacation!
