For Christmas,Bill always likes to get the daily calendar where you tear a page off each day. Sometimes they are cartoons, last year was "George Bush's countdown til out of office" (just his personal option) This year's calendar has advice from "Life's Little Instruction Book" These are some I have found to be profound and great advice.
Maybe you'll find something you'll implement in your life.
1. It's best not to admit to being nervous. If it's not obvious, why mention it: if it's obvious, why confirm it?
2. When trying out a new restaurant, visit the restroom first. It will tell you all you need to know.
3. Volunteer to car pool your kids to school and listen to the conversation between them and their friends. It will tell alot.
4. Don't take yourself so seriously - - not one else does.
5. Make peace with the past so it won't mess up the present.
6. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special
7. Time heals almost everything. Give time time. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
8. Resist helping a child with a task until he asks.
9. Insult a man, and a thousand praises won't make things right.
10. Make a list of 20 people who would be sad to know that you died. Call them at least twice a year.
I figure I can't go wrong by changing one thing in my life and making a difference. It's also a good feeling to read ones that I can say " I do that" or "I don't do that"

I love these "instructions"! All of them are very useful.
About #10: I had a friend who, after buying a bullet bike, made a list of all the people he wanted contacted in case he died. About a month later he wrecked and died (true story). I cannot tell you how much it meant when his brother called to let me know I was on that list, even though I was already aware of what was going on.
So the moral of that story? Don't let your kids have bullet bikes because no matter what they say they will always go too fast and making a list really is a good idea!
I love quotes and I enjoy sharing and receiving them. I subscribe to a service that sends me one a day. I got a kick out of today;s:
"If you believe that feeling bad or worrying long enough will change a past or future event, then you are residing on another planet with a different reality system."
William James
Thanks for sharing.
