BACK FROM MUNICH AND DACHAU

It's now Friday morning and we are preparing a Thanksgiving dinner for tonight. There is a family, from the states, that are coming and the missionaries. We brought a frozen turkey breast with us and it even made it through all inspections. In Paris they asked what it was and when we told them, they had no clue what a turkey was. So........we made it through and with all the other fixings, we should be good to go. I'm not sure about the pretzel jello salad. No ice cubes for the jello - - no cool whip for the cream filling. We'll see how it goes with good old whipped cream.
We returned last night (thurs) from Munich. It was a beautiful city and we about walked our legs off. What a wonderful city. We loved it. The weather was about 67 degrees and that made it even better. We also went to Dachua and saw the concentration camp. What a place to see and imagine. I will post pictures when I get home. We had alot to talk about. It made me panicky to think about what it must have been like and to imagine what they were thinking about their wives and chilkren. Oh the humanity. Like Bill said "it was interesting to see it from the Germans perspective. So...on to the salad and rolls. Bill is doing the pumpkin pie cake, turkey, potatoes and dressing. It will be fun.

I look forward to posting some pictures for you.

Ooh, Thanksgiving dinner. What a great idea. I'm amazed the turkey breast made it all the way through. Too funny. I'm sure there will be a few pics to share of the dinner once you're home.

Dachau - I can't imagine how that felt. I remember when I first learned of the Holocaust during my jr or sr year in high school. I went home and questioned mother as to what she knew about it and why the US did nothing about it. The inhumanity of it is still hard for me to grasp.

I just finished watching a documentary, "The Rape of Europa" about the systematic rape of artworks of all types (paintings, statues, jewels, etc.) by the Nazi regime. It's mind boggling and defintely worth seeing.

On a happier note, it's beautiful here as well. Warmer than normal and sunny all week with a few more days of the same. Did you hear parts of the Dakotas got up to 4ft of snow? Burr.
