Sweet Little Ella

Well, I"m home from Switzerland and Utah and want to make several posts with pictures of our trip but the billing is calling me big time after being gone for 2 weeks. Yikes!!! So, I thought I'd make a quick, easy post with pictures of Ella. I made a stop off in Utah to take care of Ella while Abbie defended her thesis for her masters. She was a busy girl for 3 full days and I got to be in charge of Ella day and night. What a treat and it's all I can do to think about her today without crying. Dane and Bridget fell in love with her and she with them. What a flirt she is. So........here's some pictures for your viewing enjoyment.

I saw the cutest Christmas outfit and bought it for Ella and put it on her the first day. She looked so cute. It had a headband with it but I couldn't find it at the time of the pictures. Uncle Dane loved playing with her and she loved flirting back with him. What baby doesn't fall in love with you when you'll let them play with their car keys.

Now, tell me if this isn't one of the cutest faces you've ever seen. You could sit her down and she'd just sit there. Never move - - unless she fell backwards.

We saw this darling hat in Switzerland and I just couldn't pass it up. She wasn't real crazy about it but if you caught her at the right moment, she'd let you put it on. Aunt Bridget liked it too but liked the little doll in it better.

It was time for me to return to Washington and so we had to say our goodbyes. Abbie took some pictures of us and Ella was a little ham. When we finished the pictures, I put her down on the floor and she became preoccupied with some kind of toy. I said "well, good bye Ella, grandma is leaving now" and I kid you not, she looked up at me and started crying with tears and all. It about broke my heart. I know she must have been crying over something else but for the moment, those tears were for me. I can't wait until Christmas time when they come and Bill can spend some time with her.

Cute pictures! I don't even know if I'll recognize her when they come at Christmas time. She won't forget me though.

There are never enough pics of that doll baby! Never. As cute as she is, I think her look is changing. Does anyone else?

She's looking pretty independent in that first pic, as in 'don't mess with me.'

Dale, I'm with you in hoping she'll remember me when I see her early next month.

Thanks Janet!

Her look is definitely changing and I'm looking at the pics trying to figure out who she looks like. We made it home around 9pm. She was quite the stinker in the car. She didn't want to be alone in the back but obviously there wasn't a choice. Oh well. We'll see you in six weeks!

It was soooo good to see three of my favorite girls/women in Utah this week. It sure is a good thing that we get to see you in Dec, or I would have had a LOT harder time saying goodbye. Love you!
