ALARMS AND POLICE

Well, this is to let you know that our alarm system works and so do the police. We were having our land line changed from Embarq to Charter. The Charter technician had finished and I was supposed to do a test to make sure the alarm was still working through the phone line. Earlier in the day,the security company told me to push the panic button to test it, so when the technician was finished that's what I did. I was expecting the security people to call me but no phone call came. So......I figured it wasn't working and pushed the panic button again and still no luck. I was about to call the security company and ask if they got my panic alarm or what else I should do. With that I heard a loud knock on the front door and then someone came right in and hollered "POLICE" I thought - 'oh no, that is what I didn't want happening' There was a police man and another man dressed in a suit. I explained that I had done what I thought the security people told me to do and that we were having our phone lines changed. The policeman told me that he figured that was what it was when he came around the corner and saw the Charter truck. What a nice guy and I apologized but told him it made me feel good that it was a quick response from the police. Had someone been in the house, they wouldn't have had time to get anything and get away with it. (I didn't share that last part with the police) I did call the security company and they said they got two panic notices from us but a panic call goes directly to the police. Great - -how did I misunderstand how I was supposed to test to make sure the alarm was still working? With that in mind, I feel much better with Bill being gone so much during the night - - as long as I can get to the panic button on the alarm touch pad, I'll be just fine. I feel a whole new sense of security and it was actually kind of fun having something out of the ordinary happen.

I'm glad to hear you are safe and sound with Bill gone.

Oh, I just remembered. I used to work for a lady who was semi bed bound. She liked it when she fell out of bed, she would call the fire department and she told me the fire guys were super hunky! I've always loved that story.

Oh man...scary. I am glad McKell wasn't with you. Or maybe she would have understood the alarm better if she would have been there with you. Oh well like you say it made an ordinary day exciting:o)
