This post is to share the pride we have in one of our children and I don't think I'm one bit prejudice.
We received a package in the mail over the weekend and neither one of us knew what it was. Bill opened it up and to our surprise, it was a hardbound copy of Abbie's thesis that was part of her obligation in getting her masters degree.
A real hardbound book.

Don't mess with this- - it has a copyright on it.

Signatures of the professors who read and accepted the thesis paper.

It's official - - the requirements were met.

It even has pictures.

There's even writing on the spine so now it can go on the bookshelf and still be found.

These kind of accomplishments don't happen without effort on many parts. I know her campus mentors were priceless in their support and advice. (I won't name names because I'm not exactly sure how many there were - - a few I know I heard alot about)During the master's program, Abbie got married, had a baby (early - -which tossed the whole schedule to the wind) and moved to Virginia.
Except for writing the paper itself, Scott was daily involved in what happened and made time available once Ella was born.

When the thesis was defended on November 12, 2008, I got to take care of Ella for three days while Abbie was involved in the final details of presenting and correcting. Dane was left with the important responsibility (time ran out and Abbie had to return home to Virginia) of making sure copies were made, papers were in order and everything was presented to the right people so it could be published and filed in the permanent records of the Harold B. Lee Library on BYU's campus

WELL DONE ABBIE. We're proud of you. Great accomplishment.

Again, way to go Abbie! I am very proud of you, and I am sure that you are sooooo glad that you were able to go through with it all the way and really finish! What an amazing accomplishment. :)
Thanks Mom!! I remember saying after I finished that I never really felt like I got the credit for completing a Masters Thesis because I graduated in December. Thanks for the recognition. Oh, and I totally found a mistake. Look at the page with pictures that you posted. At the bottom of the second picture it should say, "Fig. 2...... " but it doesn't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go to the next page...... It's there on the top!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I'm so mad!
