Ella's milestones

I never wrote about this but Ella rolled from her tummy to her back on July 20th. We were home in Washington which is why I remember the date. She kept doing it for about a week and now refuses to do it and will just scream when she's done with tummy time. Some other firsts:

Ella's first experience with ribbon. As you can see, she unraveled the whole thing and had a hay day while I was working on making her some headbands.

Ella will now scoot around on her back. I had her on this blanket with her head facing "East" and now look at her. Off the blanket facing "North".

Ella's first towel turban experience. I got out of the shower the other day and put this on my head and I kid you not, she started laughing at me! Not like, making fun of me laughing-obviously because she's too young for that-but I think she recognized that something was different about Mom. She does the same thing when I put my shower cap on. So I decided to put a towel turban on her too and as you can see, she really didn't like the experience.

And finally, Ella started sitting up on her own yesterday (Sunday). She's still wobbly and will fall over but she can sit for a good 2-3 minutes on her own. On this picture she's on a quilt on top of egg carton foam for two reasons: 1) She has started banging her feet on the ground incessantly when she's on her back and I'm worried that we're annoying our downstairs neighbor and 2) I had to get some things done around the house and didn't want her to really bonk her head. So yes, our little girl is getting so big.

And in case you're wondering, that little pink "emperor's" outfit she has on is her sleeper. It's like a little sleeping bag that zips up so that she can't kick her covers off during the night. It's wonderful. And yes, it's true, we don't have to swaddle her anymore. But she's still not sleeping through the night. Oh well, with time right?

Couple of heads up. 1. be careful about the ribbon not wrapping around her neck and then her scooting around and getting choked. 2. be careful of the putting her near the electrical cords. OK my mothering is over and I can say........so cute. The picture with her turbin on looks like she really doesn't mind it and I think it's a darling picture. Thanks for posting.

Even tho I've not had my own children, ditto your mom's comments about the ribbon. Little things can have big consequences.

And I agree with Janet that she doesn't look that perturbed about the turbin. My only issue with it is that it's just one more pic I HAVE to add to my screen saver because it's one more example of why she's the world's cutest little Ella Bella, beloved by ALL who know her.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the concern. Just so you all can sleep better, she was by me the whole time and though it looks like the ribbon is wrapped around her, they were just laying on top of her but yes, I am aware of the potential hazards. FYI, I don't let her sit on the couch anymore Mom. :)

Ouch with the couch comment. Still brings tears to my eyes. Poor little thing trusted me so much. Oh well, life goes on and she's no worse for the wear. Thank goodness. Love her so much
