BELATED BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Dale came home this weekend and we celebrated his and Bill's birthday. The dinner request was roast with mashed potatoes and gravy. The birthday cake request was chocolate/carmel cake. Those of you that grew up in the Smith household know exactly what cake that is. UMMMMM I halved it, though, so Bill and I wouldn't have it hanging around all week.

The beginning of a delicious birthday dinner with the special plate going to Dale and an added special plate for Bill. It's a tradition Georgia started us on when Bill and I got married. The dishes look well used but we wouldn't replace them for anything. Too many memories.

There were 24 candles for Dale and a group of 5 and then 7 candles for Bill. You could feel the heat on your face. Where has the time gone that so many candles are required on the birthday cake?

I don't know what was wrong with my camera but the lighting was bad. I wanted to share these pictures anyway. It was fun opening the presents for these two special guys in my life.

I'd have to admit they're two of my favorite men as well! Looks like a fun celebration and I'm sure the food was up to the standard required for a double birthday celebration.

Is it possible the high volume of candles tricked the camera into thinking a flash wasn't needed?? (I'm being smart.)

(It was nearly 80 degrees here today!)

What a great opportunity to prepare a meal, dessert and presents for two great guys! I love when I am outnumbered by good-looking men! :)
