GONZAGA HERE HE COMES

This past weekend, Dale came home so we could take him to Gonzaga's Law School open house in Spokane. We left at 6am and had a great morning drive. We hit snow about 10 miles out of Spokane. It was a serious snow storm until lunch time. They kept emphasizing that this was not typical weather for this time of year. They didn't want to scare anyone away with the April snow. It was a nice school, the people couldn't have been nicer and they fed us a delicious lunch with tasty deserts. We got to watch a final competition of a "Moot Court" where they mimicked a trial and there were 5 state Supreme Court Justices that were there from Boise and Olympia. We got a tour of the school along with a question and answer period with some professors there. It was a very well planned open house. We learned that 30% of the student body at the law school were LDS. That's encouraging and with it being a private catholic school, there was a religious feeling there. As you entered the building, there was the scripture from Matthew that says "and the lawyer asked the Savior - -what is the greatest commandment." It then continued that it is love the Lord thy God with all your heart and the second is like unto - -love your neighbor as yourself. Dale and I commented that it was just like being at BYU except for the cross that was displayed at the top of the inscription. :) So, I think it's a go that Dale will now be a Zag. Nice place, nice people, nice students, nice professors and nice location. We'll be happy to have him closer to home.

I am so glad for Dale. DEFINITELY the right choice! Dale will love it there and Eastern Washington is a great market for Gonzaga grads. He won't have a problem finding a job in Washington.

Boy, this has news has great decision written all over it. I think it's great the school has a religous foundation and atmosphere. Hard to go wrong there.

I've been thinking about moving to Spokane since I watched Antiques Roadshow from Spokane the last two weeks....

Congrats again!
