THANKSGIVING AT PARK CITY

I know we were all together at Thanksgiving but there are others that read our blog and so this post is for all of them. (whoever you are)
All last week, they were making snow in Park City. The mountain tops had no snow. SAD So....on Monday they started making their own snow. I've heard about this but have never seen it done. Dale was especially intrigued with it and so we made several trip outside to see it. It was so dang cold that we didn't tough it out too long. But, yes, it was real snow but homemade. Does that make sense?
By Friday, they had enough that people were hiking up the mountains with their snowboards and sleds. On Saturday, they opened the ski lifts. The place was packed. Bill and I figured that the revenue they got from opening the lifts probably didn't pay for the cost of making snow. Who knows?

We had Thanksgiving dinner around
6pm on Thursday because Scott had to work until 4:30 pm in Provo. Dane and Bridget went and spent the day with Bridget's family and then came to be with us around 4pm. I'm glad they both got to spend some time with their families on Thanksgiving day. Dane had been gone for 2 years on his mission and Bridget's parents had been gone for 3 years on their mission. (plus during that time, Bridget was on her mission also) Fun times to be together.

Bill tried hard to get in the picture but I didn't know it so he's kind of cut out but he was there. It wouldn't be as fun without him. What a guy.
It was great to be all together and the best part was that my house didn't get messed up in the process. It helped me relax a bit.

I was wondering about the ski resorts and how they were going to survive without snow. I am getting a bit worried about our lack of precipitation in Utah.

Your dinner looks like it was fun. Finally, all together!

Thanks for letting us participate in the traditions FHE.

Hey Dale - sounds like going to see snow made is the winter version of going to see all the firetrucks fighting the summer brush fires around Prosser last July! You can always count on Dale to be out there checking out the 'big' stuff and how it works.

Janet - first of all, thanks for pointing out William's efforts to get in the pic as I'd missed it at first glance.

Secondly, thanks for sharing the details and pics. Everyone looks great; William's a mere shadow of his former self....

Take care all.

Not funny, Abbie. You know the answer. One of these days you'll feel bad. In the meantime, I'm going to be a good sport.
