Well, as you all know, we went to Seattle Thursday through Saturday for my annual MRI and Dr. appointment. We met up with Emalei Thursday evening and had dinner and did a small amount of shopping. It was so dang cold that I just wanted to go back to the motel room and stay warm. It was fun, though, to feel of the excitement of the holiday bustle.
As you know, Emalei is going to Syracuse, NY to be with Aunt Beth for Christmas and will come to UT the day before Dane and Bridget's wedding. I was going to send Em's Christmas to Beth but then thought 'well I'll just sent it with Emalei in her suitcase' Then your Dad and I had the thought that we'd share Christmas early with Emalei.
She had asked for a new i-pod so we thought she could spend the next few weeks getting her music downloaded and a few movies too. She then could use it on the plane going and coming. We got her a few of Samantha Brown, from the travel channels,' DVDs. You almost feel like you've been there if you've ever watched her. She can put these on her i-pod also. So, we sat there, in her apartment, and set up everything like we do Christmas morning. Emalei opened her presents and then she had one for your Dad and I.
Actually, it was from Em, Ab and Dale (Animal Planet) We love it and have already watched the first disc. Thank you all three for the nice gift. You know how much your Dad and I love the media room and we will really enjoy watching these DVDs. So, that was our weekend and as we came out of church today we were having a heavy snowfall. It's beginning to look allot like Christmas.

Gosh, I beat Janet at being the #1 responder.... (that's a joke).
How fun was that early Christmas?!! What a terrific idea. I'm excited at Em's new pod, thinking I might benefit from your generosity as well. THANK YOU!!
Emalei, is that a furry blanket you're all wrapped up in?? In Seattle?? Guess I'd better ask the maintenance staff here to upgrade the insulation in my apartment so you don't freeze while you're here. We all know how our temperature levels don't always match.
Janet, is that William's arm in the first pic? Is it me, or have we just been seeing parts of William in the last few blogs? Is there a subtle message in that??
Everyone have a great month. I'm with Abbie in loving December and the sense of anticipation and increase in thoughtfulness.
Feliz Navidad!!
Aunt Beth
To be perfectly honest, Beth, I took picture of Bill by the tree. It was not worth keeping - - poor guy. His arm in the picture was not intentional. You're getting a little sarcastic, you know, and we can block your comments if we want. Be careful what you say. ;)
Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.
Aunt Beth
Janet, That looks like so much fun. If I could make Christmas last like that I might enjoy it more. It seems like the hype goes on forever with a brief opening of presents and then its over. Em looks happy with her gift! :)
See you soon.
Man. Between Mom and AB, I sometimes wonder if we have any Christmas love around here. We won't be blocking any comments... or else I will take privileges away. :) HA HA!
If Emalei's Christmas is any sign of what my Christmas is going to be like then it will be a good one. Looks like you got a lot of cool stuff. Can't wait to watch Animal Planet when I get home. That show is awesome!
Emalei, i don't mean to beat a dead horse but you look so good! i think that color shirt looks really nice on you. ipods are great for airplane rides! though, even after a year i still haven't made the effort to figure out how to download videos.
wyatt and i are going to be in seattle the week of new years (29th-5th). will you be around for some hot cocoa? i don't know what the plans are for the wedding in utah. let me know....
Wow...I've sure had a lot of blog time in the past few weeks! (Thanks to mom!) And let me just make a correction, the DVD we gave mom and dad was "Planet Earth", not "Animal Planet"! That's a channel, not a show! :) Hee hee. I got a good laugh at that. Hope Dale isn't disappointed!
Brit- I'll be in Seattle on the 1st - 3rd (then have to go home for Dane's reception). Give me a call, or shoot me an email and we can hook up for hot cocoa or something fun like that!
Gosh, AB, I may have to edit a few things out of my 'special' William and Janet Smith Family 2007 Christmas letter. (Guess I could begin by shortening the title.) I'm going to say nothing but nice things for the rest of the year.
I said previouslly that I'm with Abbie on loving this season. And if you could see my living area right this minute you'd know I'm way into the holiday spirit. Way!!
OK, now I need to get back to my workshop and tie up a few loose ribbons....
