What's Em Been Up To???

Everyone get really excited because my life in recent days could be compared to a thriller that puts you on the edge of your seat. Are you ready? Good...

Friday...oh, excuse me, I mean Tuesday (I'm getting the two confused these days) was my last day of work last week, thanks to a Jewish Holiday called Sukkot which honors the Israelites pilgramage out of Egypt back to their homeland. I went home (Prosser...I guess really mom and dad's home) Wednesday, proceeded to sleep in for 4 days straight, ate mom and dad's food (the highlight being cinnamon rolls and dad's gourmet hot chocolate), watched hot air baloons, read "O" and InStyle magazines, went shopping with mom and Jeannie, watched TV, got my hair highlighted...and didn't once even glance at the bag I brought full of GRE study books and curriculum books for work. Shame on me. Oh well...there always this weekend...ahem, I mean week. Is tomorrow Friday-I mean Tuesday again???

No wonder the time goes so fast lately. Your work week is only 2 days long. Must be nice but real life will set in soon. Until then, enjoy.

Why aren't the padres hatin' on Emalei for not studying?! All the while I am busting my hind parts over here and gettin' hated on for taking a break! Call me chopped liver!

Em,

That sounds like the most heavenly week/weekend ever. Maybe I should convert to judaism, the holidays rock!

I think I'm going to become a Jew.

Do you get a 'winter' break? I know its probably not Christmas vacation. Enjoy your weeks of vacation. It sounds so nice to just relax and enjoy yourself! Any big plans (besides studying, of course:)) for this week? Have fun.

Why is Dane talking like a gangster? Speaking of Dane, I had a dream last night that we were in Grandma's old car going to church in Sunnyside. He went over the bridge that goes across the freeway at 50 mph and it was snowing and icy out. I was so mad at him because I was in the back seat in just a lap belt. I told him he could have killed the baby and made Emalei drive the rest of the way to church. Random, but maybe I shouldn't drive with gangster Dane for a while.

Sorry, I deleted my own comment because I wrote "Dance" instead of "Dane"... oh well...

Everyone thinks becoming Jewish would be a dream because of all the holidays, but let me tell you, it's not fun to have a holiday for a Jew. Most holidays consist of serious prayer, going to synagogue all day, not being able to drive, write, type, turn on the stove, flip switches, and a myriad of other things. I think the better option is to work for a Jewish institution. You get all the holidays off, but you don't have to "celebrate" like a Jew. :)

Ok, after reading Emalei's last comment about how Jews cannot drive, write, type, flip switches etc, etc... I don't know why Jews wouldn't want to become members of the church. It seems a lot easier and not so strict in what one can and cannot do. In fact, it makes what we do seem like cake. I would drive myself crazy trying to keep all of those rules and making sure I didn't break any of them. It seems harder to follow something like that than accepting the truth.

Dane, I miss you. I never see you. "Why you leave me?" I hope life is good. Bridget seems cool but we can't judge a book by its cover. Can we?

Abbie sounds like she has dreams like I do. Questionable with hints of reality.

I hope Bill is doing well and healing well and Janet, your laundry room looks great! I guess I will have to work on our backsplash in a while. Maybe one or two weeks? A year? Maybe two years? I guess I'll get around to it sometime.

Dale, lunch is on tomorrow. How about skipping work and class tomorrow? Sounds like fun. I'll skip work too.

Good evening to all of you! I have class until 9:30pm tonight, the night before Thanksgiving!
I thought I would also make my appearance on your blog 1) to comment on how glad I am that each and everyone of you is doing well and 2) to give you some update on Emalei, which she would otherwise not make public.
Emalei took the GRE exam last week. I have been rooting for her and for her plans to go back to school. Well, she took the test and did VERY well. It's amazing to me that with as little studying as she did, she was able to 'beat the system.' I am very proud of her and I think she deserves a round of hurray from everyone. She now has the choice of many wonderful schools and I am very excited for her. HURRAY FOR EMALEI!!!!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
