Hi, one and all. An update on the day about your dad. His surgery went well. He had a block and sedation. The block wore off around 4am this morning. From that time on, he has been beyond miserable. He can't get comfortable and the pain medication doesn't give him much relief. We were commenting on what would the pain be like without the medicine? Ouch!! He said "I don't even want to think about it." Anyway, it's been a pretty rough day for him. He's running a low grade fever but they told us yesterday that is not abnormal. I found out today that shoulder surgery is one of the most painful. I asked your dad if he knew that and he said yes. Yikes!!! Well, tomorrow can only be better - - I hope. Gary stopped by and they were discussing what he could prescribe for him that would be stronger than what he is taking. NOTHING. Dale and I were talking this morning about how painful it was when his block from his bone graft wore off. Remember your dad in your prayers. As Annie would sing "The sun will come up tomorrow"
I'm looking for some pictures posted by someone from the football game or just some commentary on how it went. Please - - I feel lonely in a house with someone with me.
love you all

YIKES!! Sorry to hear dad is sturggling. I can somewhat relate with your pain. I'll be praying for you to pass through this. If it makes you feel any better, BYU did kick some major trash today. We ended up winning 31-6 in what ended up being a very rainy and wet game. At least rest knowing that some of your tithing dollars are being well spent. No pictures though mom. Sorry. I can try uploading one from ESPN or something, but it probably won't have me in it! :)
To think I used to throw away pain meds because I wasn't in that much pain. I threw away about 12oz of morphine early on.... If I only knew then what I know now!
I found some little yellow pills in an envelope when I was packing up the kitchen this afternoon. The envelope was dated 1997. Want me to send them on??
Seriously though MFB, I will add my prayers to those of others and pray for your full and complete recovery.
I'm not a big SNL fan but I like the beginning portion which is usually something satirical dealing with politics. I think tonight is the season premier; one of the cast portrayed Bush explaining a different approach to finding a solution in Iraq. Pretty clever.

Hope you're feeling better, Uncle Bill. There is nothing worse than being in pain...we'll be praying for your recovery.
Poor Papa...feel better! I didn't even know that he was having surgery until the morning of the surgery...and the only reason I found out was because he called and told me. Feel better Dad!
Love you, dad! It seems you have painful, uncomfortable surgeries too often! Hopefully this will be the last! Love you.
Janet and Bill,
I am so sorry to hear about the pain. I sure hope you can find some relief somehow. I am sure time will help, but in the meantime it sounds brutal. All our prayers are with you. And Janet-I wish you well also, being a caretaker can be a difficult job.
Dane,
Not sure you'll read this but if you'll check about a week ago, I posted something on this blog reminding you all that your Dad's surgery was on Friday. I know, I know, you've got girl on the brain. We'll forgive you. Use this blog, it's a valuable thing to keep in touch with family day to day events.
love you
